Mermaid Drawing

These are pics of my daughter's mermaid drawing. She's 11 and she's getting into drawing mermaids and mythological creatures. She said she might want to illustrate history books one day. That's her version of a catfish in the lower right-hand corner.

Cardboard Tube Monster

Today we have a bright little cardboard tube monster, made by painting a toilet tissue roll tube neon pink, glueing on a pair of wiggle eyes, a pompom nose, round beads for a mouth and chenille stems for hair. What do you think of my monster...scary...or cute?

Journal

This is a journal made from the Here & Now line of products. What do you think I should use this journal for? Any ideas?

Paper Bag Pig Puppet

This is a pig puppet I made out of a paper bag. I simply cut the snout, ears, arms, legs and tail from pink construction paper and glued them on a lunch bag...followed by a pair of flirty wiggle eyes. Should I make some more puppets? What do you think?

American Girl Doll Hat

I'm trying to crochet clothes for all of my daughter's dolls and stuffed animals. I designed and crocheted this hat for Lanie, her American Girl doll. I think it needs a flower on the front. What do you think?

Cardboard Tube Tree

My latest creation...a cardboard tube tree, which I made by painting the cardboard tube brown, drawing a cloud shape on green construction paper and cutting that out for the leaves, cutting a small slit on either side of the top of the tree and inserting the leaves into the slits. So simple and so...well...tacky...but fun. :)

What do you think about cardboard tube crafts? Tacky...or fun?

Toilet Tissue Roll Octopus

By now, you know about my love of trash, so it should come as no surprise that my next project, Henrietta the Octopus, was made from garbage-yes, she is crafted from an empty toilet tissue roll. I simply painted her purple, cut slits about midway up to form legs, glued on a pair of wiggle eyes, drew on a mouth then used a hole punch to punch out circles (tentacles) from yellow construction paper. Then, as a crafterthought, I glued on a bow. What do you think of sweet Henrietta...a hit or a miss?

My Easter Bunny Basket

Yesterday,  I blogged about my love of trash. Here's the idea I came up with for reusing those empty coffee containers. I simply painted the container brown, cut some ears, whiskers, teeth and a handle from colored construction paper, glued on some wiggle eyes and a button nose followed by a cotton ball to form the tail. What do you think of my basket...hit...or miss? I'd love to get some opinions!

What to Do With Empty Maxwell House International Coffee Containers

One of my favorite things in the world to do is to take a piece of "trash" and figure out various ways to repurpose it. I drink a lot of Maxwell House International Coffees and my latest mission is to figure out ways to recycle these neat little containers into fun and useful objects. I've begun transforming one of them as we speak and I hope to share the finished product with you very soon. What about you? What do you turn your Maxwell House International Coffee containers into? I'd love to hear about it!-Cherie
